Archaeologists have celebrated after discovering the largest piece of ivory ever in Russia.
A part of the ancient elephant ivory found during a mission in Ural in the Prikamye region of Russia, according to the Mirror newspaper released last week.
First, archaeologists thought they had found a small piece of ivory, but when fully dug, it was 3.15 meters (10 feet 4 inches) long and 22 centimeters in diameter.
"We have a lot of hypotheses, we think this is a small piece, just a small part of the ivory," said Tatyana Vostrikova, chief of the excavation section. But the excavation reveals the true size of it and we're all happy. "
