A total of 12 people were killed when a crash landed in Colombia on Saturday, the state-run Xinhua news agency said on Sunday.
The plane, known as the Douglas DC-3, was registered at the airport in Villavicencio, the National Aeronautics and Space Agency Aerocivil said on its Twitter account, "We really regret the incident of the plane. Traveling between San Jose del Guaviare and Villavicencio.

According to Aerocivil, authorities have begun to investigate the cause of the accident.
